LMS is hosting a Fall Party fundraiser on Saturday, November 12 from 7 – 10:30 PM. Here’s why you need to join us at our Mount Pleasant home, the Boatyard at 1230 Pherigo Street. Share with your friends and purchase your tickets today!

5. Eat Your Fill
With the first crisp evenings of November upon us, we know what everyone in Charleston is thinking: It’s finally time for oysters! We’ll be roasting fresh, local oysters, so grab your knife and show up hungry. For non-oyster eaters, and all those who love a good southern meal, Charleston Bay Gourmet will be serving up plenty of barbecue, collard greens and biscuits.

4. Local Beverages on Tap
Tripp Brower, Executive Director of LMS (and party planner in chief), personally selected kegs of Coast Brewing Company’s most delicious beers. Spirits from Firefly Distillery will make the evening merry, and there’s even a rumor of a signature fall cocktail sure to warm you up. Wine will also be available, and all beverages are included in the ticket price!

3. Come for the Food, Stay for the Live Music
While the band has yet to name itself, this group of talented young musicians got the crowd up and grooving during their Single Wing Stage debut performance this summer. We can’t wait to welcome them back to the Boatyard! Don’t want to dance? Playing corn hole to the beat is highly encouraged.

2. Preview the Tools Available Through Our New Shop Share

LMS will soon launch the Shop Share, a program allowing community members to have access to professional grade woodworking tools, a large, versatile workspace, and the expertise of fellow woodworkers and carpenters. Whether you build boats, furniture or just like to work with your hands, take a tour of the shop and see which tools we have that you’ve always wanted. Shop Share subscriptions make great gifts, and are discounted for current LMS members.

1. Support Youth Boatbuilding in Charleston Schools
It’s really all about the kids. This year we have in-school and after school Youth Boatbuilding programs in five Charleston area schools. LMS is only able to provide these programs through the financial support of people like you. Whether you purchase Fall Party tickets, become a member or buy one of the beautiful skiffs our students have made, all proceeds return to the program. More children will be connected to the Lowcountry’s rich maritime heritage through a hands-on, real world math project.

Tickets are $35 per person and can be purchased online. Food, beverages and live music are all included. See you this weekend!
